Our Story

Brumexar traces its roots back to 1952, when a small photography shop first opened its doors on Zijdstraat in Aalsmeer. What started as a modest storefront grew over the decades into a trusted name for anyone who cared about capturing and preserving their memories properly.

 

Today that same business continues under the name Brumexar, still run from the heart of Aalsmeer. Patrick Spaander has led the company since 2017, carrying forward more than seventy years of experience in photography and retail. Behind the scenes, a team of sixteen people works to keep things running and to help customers find exactly what they need, whether that's advice on equipment or a recommendation for a special order.

 

Over the years the focus has stayed simple. We sell useful camera accessories, offer photography services, and help people display the moments that matter most to them. That last part is what led us to expand into simple picture frames, because a photograph deserves more than just sitting in a folder somewhere. It deserves to be seen, every day, by the people who love it.

 

We believe good photography gear shouldn't be complicated and that displaying your favorite memories shouldn't be an afterthought. That belief has guided this business since the very beginning, and it still guides everything we offer now, whether you're a professional photographer or someone who just wants to keep a favorite picture close.

 

From a small shop in Aalsmeer in 1952 to where we are today as Brumexar, our goal has never really changed. We want to help people capture their moments and give those moments a proper place in their homes and lives.
